eloped // tripti & bruce // asheville wedding photographer

"i remember us beautiful and exhaustless.
we loved, both hands full of life. we loved."

i was beyond excited when tripti initially emailed me to photograph her and bruce's elopement. although their plans changed several times, i knew it'd be a gorgeous day regardless of where it happened, full of love and excitement for these two.

they had a teeny tiny ceremony with their immediate family in greensboro and then escaped to the mountains for a honeymoon in a remote cabin for a couple of days - which is where i met them. we didn't get to meet before their session, but speaking to them on the phone, i could tell they were in this for the right reasons. meeting them just solidified that.

bruce cherishes tripti, you can tell it in the way he holds her. and she's so giddy and giggly around him (as you can tell), it's adorable. we had so much fun exploring the area around their cabin, embracing the beautiful and bright summer sun.

so enjoy their portraits. lots of kissing, hugging and laughing.
these two are naturals at loving each other.

MARRIED // HAILEY & BEN // CONCORD, NC

You might remember Hailey and Ben from their engagements earlier this year? Or maybe Hailey's beautiful bridal session at the Ivy Place? I knew from those two times and numerous conversations with Hailey that their day would be beautiful and totally centered around their love and family. I've absolutely loved being able to get to know Hailey as both a friend and fellow photographer (she's a budding one, always had an interest in it and clearly has the eye!).. and seeing her sensitive heart for those around her.

It was absolutely adorable to see how nervous Hailey was the entire time up to the ceremony, and LET ME TELL YOU, I normally prefer the dark and moody light but their ceremony was one of the most beautiful ones I've ever been able to photograph. How gorgeous was that light? We were blessed with beautiful weather for sure. Her nervousness faded away as soon as she saw him and she really started to settle into contentment when we finally did their bride and groom portraits. I knew how important they were to her (as they SHOULD be) and we had a long time set aside to do them. And even when we were faced with a handful of people coming up to us to end their bride/groom session early (because of a cake falling over) - she shook her head and said, "I don't care about the cake! It's there, it's fine. Let's do this!" and that made me so happy.

Huge thank you to my partner in crime, Allison Kuhn for coming alongside and having fun and making some beautiful shots with me. Love you, friend!

ENGAGEMENT // MEAGAN & KEVIN // DAVIDSON, NORTH CAROLINA

I love these guys. After many, many attempts - we FINALLY pinned down an evening to hang out and explore Davidson together. We got real about Jesus and talked about faith and music and Donald Miller and things that in general make my heart really, really happy.

We hit the road and drove up to Davidson to see their AMAZING venue for their wedding in a couple of weeks, at the end of the month. While there, we decided to do a tiny-mini-engagement session just so they could get a feel for how I shoot. Haha, they probably didn't get the best idea of what a typical session with me is because we literally shot for like, 15 minutes.

But in those 15 minutes, I was able to capture and experience these two. How they look at each other. How relaxed they are just being together. How precious they are.

I cannot WAIT for their wedding. You guys rock!

{Side note: THIS is why I wish fall would hold off for a little. The golden light of summer is my absolute favorite. Shooting outside is totally my element.}
