BREANNA // MINI MATERNITY SESSION

I still remember when I was sitting in a Photoshop class, back in the spring of 2010. I was a junior in College and me and a couple of my friends weren't paying attention to the lecture. Instead, we were discussing "business pages" on Facebook. I made one, thinking nobody would everrrrrrr like my page. Well, one girl did. And her name is Breanna... and I'm so grateful to call her friend! Since the beginning, she has always been a huge "fan" of mine. For as long as I can remember, I've been receiving little encouraging messages from her, and our friendship has grown and grown. She got married, and as bummed as I was that it didn't work out for me to photograph it, once she got pregnant, we knew that it was time for a collaboration.

Meeting Breanna in person was just like seeing a friend I hadn't seen in forever. She's super sweet, and down for anything (which we all know that I love) - so we met in Davidson, NC and headed to an abandoned house with a little field near it. Let me also mention that this was in December and it was super cold. Like... freezing. Her and her husband, Lucas are such troopers!

I can't say enough amazing things about these two. They're so in love and so excited for the arrival of their first little babe, Eden... which should be any minute now!

SOL, NICCI & JUNIE // MINI FAMILY SESSION

Ya'll, this is going to be a huge post. Hope you're ready! I've said this before, I rarely do family sessions.

However. When Nicci emailed me and said "Hey, let's do some shots of the inside of my FREAKING AMAZING house and also maybe some shots of my ADORABLE family".. .I couldn't say no. (Disclaimer: she didn't actually say that, but she might as well have!) They have recently redone their kitchen and wanted to get some pictures of it's huge transformation (which I would totally suggest you seeing by clicking on the blog link down below!)

Nicci and Sol are those kinds of people that I can easily explain as the salt of the earth. They are quiet and humble and so immensely creative. They love their little Junie James and have an amazing home that just feels so cozy and full of love.

If I'm going to shoot family portraits, this couldn't have been a better introduction. They invited me into their home, made some sticky buns and we just hung out and talked while I snapped some pictures every now and then.

I hope you guys enjoy these!

Sol & Nicci, thanks so much for sharing your morning with me! Oh and hey! You should definitely check out their stuff.

WEDDING // MEAGAN & KEVIN // DAVIDSON, NORTH CAROLINA pt.2

One of the many things I loved about Meagan and Kevin's wedding was the portion of time after the ceremony ended. Their reception site was literally a 10 second walk from their ceremony site, so after they walked down the aisle, all of their guests left their seats to greet them. It was so cool to watch this flock of people who were just so excited to hug and kiss on the two, to share their congratulations. I've never experienced such a lawless wedding. That joy soaked into their wedding party portraits, as you can tell. This group of people, I really can't find adequate words for. Sneaking sips from flasks? Check. Agreeing to do anything I asked them to? Check. Maybe the two went hand in hand but it was AWESOME and I don't think I've felt so accepted from a group in my history of weddings. They really broke that imaginary bubble surrounding the photographer from really becoming a part of the group. Thanks for letting me in, guys! You are all fantastic. And really freaking good looking. You know that the bride/groom shots are going to be incredible when the bride stops you to ask "Can I just kiss him, now?" to which I emphatically responded, "YES!! YOU GUYS ARE FREAKING MARRIED!!" We didn't have too long to shoot but it was short and sweet. What a gorgeous pair.

I really can't say enough how much fun we had shooting this wedding. I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I enjoyed being a part of the day!

So much goodness.
